A clearer brief for natural stone

Move from a favourite surface to a useful specification with this guide to samples, dimensions and finishes.

Interior inspiration with silver-blue marble in an architectural setting

Start with the visual direction

DM Mining’s collection ranges from silver-blue and rose-grey marble to warm beige, pale limestone and patterned travertine. Shortlist the tones and vein patterns that support the design, then review a physical sample or current slab photographs before confirming a selection.

Name the intended application

Tell the team whether you are considering flooring, wall cladding or another fabricated element, and whether it will be indoors or outdoors. Suitability needs to be assessed for the actual location, installation and use. An inspiration image is not a performance specification.

Separate slab thickness from tile dimensions

Product pages show tile formats in 1.2 cm, 2 cm and 3 cm thicknesses, including larger formats up to 100 × 100 cm. Specify slab dimensions, tile sizes and tolerances separately when requesting a quote. DM White specifications are confirmed on enquiry.

Specify the surface finish

Finish options include polished, honed, tumbled, brushed and sandblasted surfaces. Our travertine selections combine cross-cut or vein-cut stone with a filled honed or filled polished finish. Confirm your selected combination and evaluate a sample in the intended lighting.

Review the actual selection

Natural variation is part of the material. Agree the selection, finish, dimensions and quantities before placing an order. Request relevant technical documentation for your application, including any project-specific requirements for wet areas or exterior use.
